You listen to another nugget of wisdom from CFO Extraordinaire:

Don’t be afraid of change. Don’t continue down the same path simply because you feel comfortable.

Routines are easy and can be done on auto-pilot, but they can result in complacency. Once you get stuck in a routine, you stop challenging yourself and you might even lose your ambition (it nearly happened to me). Years of filing that same monthly report go by and you start wondering “Whatever happened to that enterprising and determined person I was a few years ago?”

No doubt with age we all get less aggressive and lose our drive, but I know that the majority of you reading this blog are still in the prime of your careers. There is absolutely no excuse for losing that zeal! (ok, I’m running out of synonyms for ambition so I’ll stop now)

If right now you are asking yourself “yeah, whatever did happen to me?” then it’s time for you to get out of your comfort zone and make a change! Start by doing something I love to blog about, networking. You got to start somewhere, right?

Bottom line: Don’t be afraid of change.
